Heart Care

Cardiovascular health is one of the most critical parts of our overall well-being. Tanner Health System delivers exceptional heart care — and the quality of that care shows in our patient outcomes.

Our heart care services employ the latest advances in cardiac and vascular diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation to detect heart disease early, manage it effectively and clinically intervene when needed to save hearts and change lives.

Heart-saving interventions

We know how critical timely and effective intervention is for heart care patients. Tanner’s accredited Chest Pain Centers in Carrollton and Villa Rica provide advanced heart care from assessment to diagnosis to treatment.

We offer non-surgical interventional cardiology services to quickly restore blood flow, relieve symptoms and save heart muscle. Whatever the diagnosis, our team is here to provide the care you need.

Tanner provides lifesaving heart care interventions and services, including:

Open-heart surgery

Open-heart surgery — sometimes called traditional heart surgery — is any type of surgery where the chest is cut open and surgery is performed on the muscles, valves or arteries of the heart. The most common type of heart surgery performed on adults is coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) — and this surgery is available at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.

Open-heart surgery may also be used to:

  • Repair or replace heart valves
  • epair damaged or abnormal areas of the heart
  • Implant medical devices to keep the heart pumping
