Smoking and Tobacco Policy

Designated tobacco use areas

To protect our visitors, patients and employees, no tobacco use of any kind — including smoking and smokeless tobacco — is permitted on Tanner’s hospital campuses except in designated tobacco use areas located at the very edge of each campus.

Our tobacco policy is enforced by Tanner security. Please ask a volunteer if you need help locating a designated area for tobacco use.

Nicotine replacement therapy

We encourage visitors to bring nicotine replacement therapies if you are unable to refrain from tobacco use for the duration of your visit with a patient.

Tanner offers tobacco cessation education and nicotine replacement sources – such as patches – to our patients based on the patient’s needs and any physician’s orders.
