Tanner offers a full range of therapy services to help you recover strength, mobility and confidence — whether you're staying in the hospital, attending outpatient sessions or receiving therapy at home.

We tailor each program to meet your needs and help you reach your goals.

Therapy services offered

  • Inpatient physical therapy
    Helps restore movement, build strength and improve balance following surgery, injury or illness in an inpatient setting.
  • Outpatient physical therapy
    Helps restore movement, build strength and improve balance following surgery, injury or illness.
  • Occupational therapy
    Focuses on rebuilding the skills needed for daily life — like bathing, dressing or cooking — after an injury or medical condition.
  • Speech therapy
    Supports patients in regaining communication, memory and swallowing abilities after strokes or neurological conditions.

These therapies are available in inpatient and outpatient formats depending on your needs.

What to expect during therapy

  • A personalized evaluation and plan of care
  • 30 to 45-minute therapy sessions
  • A supportive, encouraging environment
  • Exercises and techniques to continue at home

Therapy may be recommended by your physician, surgeon or hospital care team. We’ll help you schedule visits and answer any insurance-related questions.

Preparing for your visit

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes
  • Bring your insurance information and referral

Billing

You will be billed through Tanner Health System each month for services rendered.

If you have questions about your bill, please call Tanner Medical Center’s Business Office, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at 770-812-9566.

Your bill includes all hospital charges. Your physician's professional services are billed separately. You may receive separate bills from physicians needed during your rehabilitation treatment.
