Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, Georgia, a facility of Tanner Health, has received a $250,000 contribution from Bank OZK through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program. This donation brings the bank’s total support for Higgins General Hospital to $2.2 million since 2018.
“This is the ninth year in a row that Bank OZK has participated in Georgia HEART, benefiting Higgins General Hospital, and we could not be more grateful for their continued support,” said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health. “We know that strong hospitals lead to strong communities, but there is another aspect that contributes to a community’s success: strong partnerships between local organizations. Bank OZK has demonstrated their investment in our mission to provide quality, convenient care to our friends and neighbors, and by working together, we can ensure that we continue to meet the needs of everyone who calls this community home.”
Since 2018, Bank OZK has contributed more than $3 million to hospitals across the state through Georgia HEART — the statewide rural hospital organization expense tax credit program enacted by the state legislature to help eligible facilities enhance services, invest in equipment and improve access to care close to home. Through this program, Georgia taxpayers, both individuals and businesses, can redirect a portion of their state income taxes to qualified rural hospitals in need of additional support.
“Access to quality healthcare is essential to a strong, thriving community,” said Tori Haack, Bank OZK’s president of commercial banking for Georgia. “We are proud to continue our support through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program and help Higgins General Hospital deliver vital care close to home.”
