UWG Community Wellness

The University of West Georgia Health and Community Wellness Program connects university students with volunteer opportunities for health and wellness outreach throughout west Georgia. 

The program provides students with real-world experiences focused on serving others, so they can make a positive impact in their communities. These experiences prepare them to take on professional roles in hospitals, schools, fitness centers and many other community health facilities.

Learning through Service

Since the program began, participating students have contributed over 2,000 hours of service for numerous Get Healthy, Live Well initiatives, including:

  • Cooking Matters
  • Get Healthy Kids
  • Faith-Based Health and Wellness Activities
  • Kids Health Exhibit
  • Move It Mondays
  • Nutrition Education
  • Photovoice
  • Pop-Up Grocery Store Tours
