Online After-Magnolia Ball Auction Runs Through Noon Today

Members of the public who would like to take part in Tanner Medical Foundation’s online After-Magnolia Ball Auction are invited to visit www.MagnoliaBall.org and bid on items through noon on Friday, May 2.

Bids for all items start as low as 50 percent of retail value. Items up for bid include golf outings, wine selections, artwork, salon packages and sports experiences.

Keeping with the 2014 Magnolia Ball theme, “Kentucky Derby,” the auction features a “Triple Crown Photo” framed photograph of the last three Triple Crown champions autographed by the jockeys.

The Triple Crown is considered the most elusive feat in horse racing, and just 11 horses have earned this historic honor of winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. The photograph is autographed by Ron Turcotte, Secretariat's Triple Crown jockey in 1973; Jean Cruguet, Seattle Slew’s jockey in 1977; and Steve Cauthen, the youngest jockey to win the U.S. Triple Crown, riding Affirmed in 1978.

The online auction will benefit a 30-bed expansion of the child and adolescent inpatient unit at Willowbrooke at Tanner. The facility’s current 12-bed unit often operates at capacity, and it is the only inpatient pediatric behavioral health and substance abuse program in 19 counties authorized and willing to accept pediatric patients covered by traditional Medicaid.

Donations will also be accepted online at www.MagnoliaBall.org and at Tanner Medical Foundation by phone at 770.812.GIFT (4438).
