T-shirt Sales to Help Provide Mammogram Assistance
Tuesday, September 9, 2014
Approximately 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer during the course of her lifetime. Fortunately, the number of breast cancer survivors has been increasing since 1989—the result of increased awareness, earlier detection with screening mammograms and treatment advances. There are now more than 2.8 million women with a history of breast cancer living in the U.S., including women currently being treated and women who have finished treatment.
The Tanner Health System Activities Committee would like for west Georgia and east Alabama residents to help increase the number of breast cancer survivors in our region by purchasing a 2014 “Rally for a Cause” T-shirt online at www.tanner.org. All T-shirt profits will be used to help more women of all ages in our community afford the annual screening mammograms that offer them the best chance for early detection and survival of breast cancer.
The 2014 T-shirt features a unique “Rally for a Cause” design on Comfort Colors by Chouinard brand T-shirts. They are available in pink and gray and in two sleeve lengths. Short-sleeved T-shirts are $20 each; long-sleeved are $25. The T-shirt sizes are unisex and range from small to 3X.
Tanner encourages everyone who orders a T-shirt to wear it often to spread the breast cancer awareness message.
The Activities Committee, which annually sponsors the sale of T-shirts benefitting some aspect of cancer patient care, is pleased to support Tanner Medical Foundation’s Mammogram Assistance Fund this year. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.TannerMedicalFoundation.org.
