Tanner Hospice Holiday Food Sale

Community volunteers are getting ready for one of the most successful (and delicious) annual fundraisers for Tanner Hospice Care, the annual Tanner Hospice Holiday Food Sale.
The sale will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, located at 102 Dixie Street. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and close when the last food items have been sold.
Now in its 22nd year, the sale offers cooks and bakers an opportunity to share their culinary gifts and support a great cause. All proceeds help terminally ill patients in our community live their final days in dignity and comfort. Last year, more than $14,000 was raised by the food sale to help ensure that local hospice care is available to those who need it.
Hundreds of homemade dishes, including casseroles, turkey, barbecue, soups, desserts and more, will be packaged for easy storage, as well as labeled and refrigerated as needed to ensure freshness.
All are invited to prepare and drop off a dish for the sale on Friday, Nov. 22, any time from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Carrollton. Dishes can also be delivered to Bremen First United Methodist Church, Fullerville Baptist Church in Villa Rica or Bowdon First United Methodist Church between 10 a.m. and noon.
Donated containers should be disposable and/or plates covered twice with clear plastic wrap and labeled with the cook’s name, the name of the dish and any special ingredients so that shoppers can easily identify items and avoid food allergies.
Tanner Hospice Care is the community’s nonprofit hospice service, providing support for people in the final stages of a terminal illness, as well as supporting family members. Contributions from the community and events such as the annual food sale enable Tanner Hospice Care to provide services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
