Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton and Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica are among the highest-performing hospitals in the nation, according to a new report from iVantage Health Analytics.
Both hospitals were among 547 hospitals nationally — and 14 hospitals in Georgia — on the analytic service’s 2014 index of HEALTHSTRONG Hospitals.
“People are no longer patients — they’re healthcare consumers,” said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health System. “Being the closest hospital is no longer enough; because there is enough publicly reported data on hospitals, people can make more educated choices about where they will receive care. Metrics like this let people research for themselves and choose hospitals that are ahead of the curve in delivering efficient, high-quality care. Because our hospitals continue to perform so highly, even as other hospitals continue to show improvement, it’s clear that Tanner remains a sound choice for care.”
The 2014 HEALTHSTRONG Hospitals highlight top performing hospitals rated as part of iVantage’s Hospital Strength INDEX (a comprehensive rating system of hospitals). The results recognize the top-performing hospitals measured across 66 different performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.
“iVantage seeks to help hospitals meet the demands of new healthcare by providing a new level of transparency into the internal and external metrics that drive more informed decision making,” said John R. Morrow, executive vice president of iVantage Health Analytics. “The Hospital Strength INDEX analyses reveal that geographic variation, population health and superior performance are interrelated, and that they can result in lower cost, better outcomes and healthier communities nationwide.”
