Thursday, July 14, 2016
Tanner Health System’s Get Healthy, Live Well will be among several organizations giving out free school supplies at Heard County’s 7th Annual Braves Back to School Bash in Franklin on Saturday, July 30.
The Heard County Community Partnership (HCCP), a Georgia Family Connection affiliate, and its collaborative partners are hosting their annual Back to School Bash from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will be held at the Heard County Covered Arena on Highway 100.
“We love to participate in the back-to-school event,” said Phyllis Head, community liaison at Tanner’s Get Healthy, Live Well. “Education is the key to success and Heard County continues to do a great job reaching out to children in the community to make sure they’re prepared for the first day of school.”
Free backpacks and school supplies are for Heard County students only. Students must attend the event to receive schools supplies. They must also show a report card or proof of residency.
This year’s sponsors include HCCP, the city of Franklin, the Heard County Board of Commissioners, Oglethorpe Power and West Georgia Technical College.
