Tanner, West Georgia Urology Offer Free Prostate Cancer Screenings in November
Thursday, September 30, 2021
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers found in men in America.
The American Cancer Society estimates that about one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime — and the risk increases significantly for Black men, men who are 50 and older, and those with a family history of prostate cancer.
Fortunately, prostate cancer is often very treatable when detected early through a prostate exam.
Tanner Health System and West Georgia Urology are partnering again to host a free screening event for men 50 and older this November to help men across the region find prostate cancer early.
The event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Carrollton and Villa Rica from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
To register for a free screening, visit tanner.org/prostatescreening.
Registration is required. Additional criteria may apply. Hand sanitization stations will be available, and everyone will be required to wear masks and stay 6 feet apart inside buildings.
