At its June 21 banquet, the Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton Auxiliary announced that its FY18 fund-raising activities yielded over $100,000 to benefit the patients and programs the hospital.
Chairman Ida Byrd, (left) and leadership member, Helen Threadgill (center), presented a check for $100,000 to Brian Dill, Executive Director, Tanner Foundation on behalf of the Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton Auxiliary.
The check was presented at the annual banquet, which celebrates the service and accomplishment of Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton Auxiliary’s volunteers.
This year, the banquet was themed “A Night of Magic” and featured a surprise act from magician, Justin Longshore. More than 22 thousand hours of service was donated by 210 active, honorary and student volunteers over the last 12 months at Tanner Medical Center/Carrolton. This service represents an estimated monetary value of nearly $550,000.
The TMCC auxiliary is led by Chairman Byrd, Treasurer Bud Lucas, Julie Bailey, Kaylyn Brumbelow, Joe Jeffries, Joyce Latimer, Cathy Lovvorn, Hilda Neeley, Ann Ralston, Ann Stiles, David Stiles, Helen Threadgill and Peggy White.
In total, 350 volunteers support Tanner Health System, and have donated more than over 45,000 hours in the last year, at a value of $1.08 million dollars.
In addition to this extraordinary gift of service, the volunteers make an annual gift of treasure to support each hospital’s patients and services. The $100,000 gift presented on June 21 was raised from the hospital’s Lamplighter Gift Shop and special sales held throughout the year.
The effect of this generosity is felt by patients throughout the hospital. In 2017, all of Tanner’s volunteer services and auxiliaries established an Auxiliary Endowment at Tanner Foundation, ensuring the impact of their generosity will be felt for generations to come.
Including their 2018 gifts, the cumulative donations from the auxiliaries and volunteer groups across Tanner Health System to Tanner Foundation since 1989 exceeds $2.3 million.
“The volunteers provide an invaluable service to Tanner Health System,” said Dill. “We are very grateful to all those who helped raise funds and for their many hours of service and commitment to making a difference at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.”
