Carrollton Merchants Support Day of Hope

On Saturday, Oct. 11, proceeds of sales from several Carrollton businesses that will take part in “A Day of Hope,” donating a portion of their sales to Tanner Medical Foundation’s Choirs for Cancer Fund. The fund provides assistance to cancer patients in the community with medication, treatment and related expenses.
The Nest is one of several Carrollton businesses taking part in “A Day of Hope” on Saturday, Oct. 11, to help local cancer patients with medication, treatment and related expenses. These merchants will donate a portion of their sales to Tanner Medical Foundation’s Choirs for Cancer Fund.
While local residents are having rejuvenating spa treatments at Indulge Salon and Day Spa, enjoying a delicious cupcake from Simply Cupcakes or personalizing a gift at McEver's Awards, Trophies & Gifts, they will also be helping local cancer patients with expenses related to their cancer care.
The Day of Hope participating merchants also includes Elite Healthcare Physical Medicine, Horton's Books and Gifts, Keep Carroll Beautiful, Plates on the Square, The Nest and Vape-N-Stead.
“The sad truth is that cancer touches everyone,” Donna Maner, owner of The Nest, said. “Everyone has someone they care about who has been affected. As a local business, it’s important to us to donate locally and help a person in our own community, help them when they’re in a fight for their life.”
Participating businesses will also be accepting donations for the fund in boxes wrapped with bows labeled “A Gift for Local Cancer Patients in Need.”
Community support of the Choirs for Cancer Fund makes it possible to help lift some of the financial burden of cancer care. The fund is supported by donations from local businesses and community organizations. Sponsorship and ticket sales for the annual Choirs for Cancer concert are another source of support, along with tax-deductible donations to Tanner Medical Foundation.
