The parents, grandparents and guardians of babies born in 2013 at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton or Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica, as well as other participating Georgia hospitals, are encouraged to go to www.Path2College529.com through April 14, 2014, to enter the 2013 Newborn Sweepstakes for a chance to win a prize of a $5,529 contribution toward college savings for their newborn.
In addition to awarding the 2013 Newborn Sweepstakes prize to one lucky family, Georgia’s Path2College program will also award $1,529 to a partner hospital if the baby selected is born at their hospital. Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton and Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica are partner hospitals.
To enter the 2013 Newborn Sweepstakes or for more information about the Path2College 529 Plan, visit www.Path2College.com or call 877.424.4377. All 2013 Newborn Sweepstakes entrants must be legal residents or taxpayers to Georgia and be at least 18 years of age to register. No purchase is necessary. Void where prohibited.
“We can’t reach every parent in Georgia alone, and that’s why establishing partnerships across the state is a crucial way for us to reach parents,” said Mitch Seabaugh, director of Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan. “We hope hospitals across the state will join us in encouraging families to save for college and to promote this sweepstakes where a child and a hospital will both benefit.”
Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan helps families prepare for the future costs of college tuition and other qualified expenses, such as fees and books. An account can be opened online with as little as $25. Any earnings in the plan are federal and Georgia income tax-deferred.
According to recent Morningstar rankings, Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan was included among the nation’s lowest cost 529 plans. Path2College was ranked No. 9 with .34 percent expense ratio. The Path2College 529 Plan is managed by TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing Inc., which is part of the TIAA-CREF group of companies.
