HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States, has named Tanner Home Health among the nation’s top 500 home health service providers.
Now in its eighth year, HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified home health agencies and highlights the top 100 and 500 agencies overall, ranking them by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, process implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency and financial performance.
“The 2013 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care and serving as leaders in the home health community. Their success is a tribute that managing healthcare data and utilizing it for improvement initiatives lead to high quality care, and we recognize them for their outstanding achievements,” said Mary Oakes, senior vice president of post-acute at National Research. “We are excited to showcase the winners at NAHC Annual Meeting and reward them for their well-deserved honor.”
Debbie Brock, director of in-home services for Tanner Health System, credited Tanner Home Health’s commitment to innovation and quality care for its designation among the nation’s 500 top home care agencies.
“We have been have been an early adopter of innovative approaches to patient care, like telemonitoring,” said Brock. “We’ve also maintained close working relationships with our referring physicians and have become integrated into the care process for a number of Tanner Health System’s services, enabling us to play an active role in reducing readmissions to the hospital and keeping patients healthy after they are discharged. If a patient experiences a complication with his or her health, we can respond quickly before that complication worsens. That’s a tremendous resource for the region’s residents.”
The 2013 HomeCare Elite is compiled by the National Research Corporation and DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line, the most respected independent newsletter in the home care profession.
“HomeCare Elite recognition continues to gain importance, given the increased regulatory mandates and the threat of shrinking reimbursement revenue,” said Marci Heydt, product manager for the post-acute care business group of DecisionHealth. “Home health agencies that have earned recognition among the HomeCare Elite demonstrated that they not only can adapt to evolving marketplace, but continue to excel in clinical, patient experience, quality improvement and financial outcomes.” The HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health profession.
