MyChart Central FAQs

MyChart Central helps patients manage care across multiple organizations by linking MyChart accounts in one place. It is designed for adults who receive care from more than one participating health system and want a single login they can use on a computer or in the MyChart mobile app.

These FAQs walk patients through what MyChart Central is, how Epic ID works, how to link accounts, and what to do if they have trouble signing in or keeping their information secure.

Overview

MyChart Central gives you the ability to link your MyChart accounts for all of your healthcare organizations in one place. If you get care from more than one healthcare organization, MyChart Central lets you link your accounts so you can use a single login to access them all. You can also access MyChart Central from your phone in the MyChart mobile application or from your computer.

When you create a MyChart Central account, you create an Epic ID, which is an email address and password combination that you use to log in to MyChart Central. Your Epic ID can log you in to any MyChart account that you’ve linked to MyChart Central. MyChart Central and Epic ID also support passkeys, allowing you to log in without a password.

You can sign up for MyChart Central if you are at least 18 years old and a patient at an organization that participates in MyChart Central.

MyChart Central doesn’t currently show your or your family’s health information, but you can use your Epic ID to log into your MyChart account with your healthcare organization to view your health information and that of anyone to which you have proxy access.

MyChart Central stores basic demographic information, such as your name, email address, and phone number. This information is used to link your MyChart accounts to MyChart Central.

Getting Started and Linking Accounts

You need an existing MyChart account with at least one healthcare organization to create a MyChart Central account.

Then, sign up for MyChart Central using either option below:

From within your MyChart account, go to Link My Accounts and select Get Started on the One login for your MyChart accounts card.

Visit tannermychart.org and select Sign up.

Your organization might not have joined the MyChart Central network yet. View a list of participating organizations and select the Include only organizations participating in MyChart Central checkbox. If your healthcare organization isn't participating yet, be sure to check back soon.

Log in to your MyChart Central account and select Link new account on the home page.

Note: You can only link MyChart accounts from participating organizations. View a list of participating organizations and select the Include only organizations participating in MyChart Central checkbox.

When you link accounts to MyChart Central, we check the personal information you’ve listed in each MyChart account to make sure the accounts belong to the same person. If you run into an issue when trying to link your accounts, confirm that the personal information for each account is up to date and accurate.

If you continue to run into problems linking your accounts, contact support for help.

Mobile Access

Yes. To access MyChart Central on your mobile device:

Download the MyChart mobile app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for Apple iOS), or access your healthcare organization’s MyChart website in your phone’s mobile browser.

Open the app.

Tap Edit organizations, then tap Add another organization.

When the search bar appears, search for MyChart Central.

Enter your Epic ID, then tap Log in.

Security and Passkeys

MyChart Central is designed to keep your information secure and private through strong encryption, two factor authentication (2FA), regular security audits, strict HIPAA Privacy and Security standards, and compliance with industry security standards. If you have questions or concerns, contact support.

A passkey is like a password, but it’s securely stored on your phone or computer so that you don’t have to remember it. When you use a passkey, your device checks who you are in a secure way without sharing your password. This makes logging in faster, easier, and safer.

To set up a passkey:

  1. Log in to MyChart Central on your personal device.
  2. Go to Account Settings.
  3. Select Manage passkeys.
  4. Select Add new passkey.
  5. Follow the steps to create your passkey.
Next time you log in on that device, select Log in with passkey and follow the prompts.

Account Updates, Password Help and Security Concerns

To change the email address you use as your Epic ID, log in to your MyChart Central account and go to the Personal Information page. On that page, you can change the email address associated with your account. Next time you log in to MyChart Central, you will be able to use your updated email address as your Epic ID.

To change your password, log in to your MyChart Central account, open the menu, and select Account Settings. Then select Change password at the top of the page.

You can update your contact information, such as your email address and mobile phone number, on the Personal Information page in your MyChart Central account.

When you update your contact information, MyChart Central automatically sends updates to your linked organizations so you don’t need to update it separately in each account. From the Auto Update Settings page, you can manage which organizations receive these updates from MyChart Central and if your linked organization allows updates from MyChart Central.

If you think your MyChart Central account might be compromised, take these steps right away:

Change your password. Go to the MyChart Central login page and select Forgot login information? to reset your password.

Review your account activity. After logging in, check for anything unusual, like new linked accounts or changes to your personal information.

If you still have concerns, contact support.

Try logging in to MyChart Central on a device that you’ve used before. Typically, you will be locked out of your account after a certain number of failed login attempts. If you see a message that you’re locked out of your account, try logging back in after waiting for 30 minutes.

If that doesn’t work, contact support and they will respond within 3 business days.

These steps apply only to your MyChart Central account, not your MyChart accounts with your healthcare organizations.

  1. Go to the MyChart Central login page.
  2. Click Forgot login information? under the Epic ID and password fields.
  3. Enter the email address or phone number linked to your MyChart Central account.
  4. Check your email or text messages for a password reset link.
  5. Click the link and follow the instructions to create a new password.

If you still have access to one of these contact methods, you can log in to MyChart Central. After logging in, go to the Personal Information page and update your contact information.

If you have lost access to both the email address and phone number associated with your MyChart Central account and can no longer log in, contact MyChart Central support. MyChart Central support does not have access to any of your other MyChart accounts and cannot update your email address or phone number associated with any given healthcare organization. Reach out to your healthcare organization’s MyChart support team directly to update your email address or phone number on file with that organization.

Account Deletion and Legacy Lucy Site

Decide which MyChart Central account you want to keep.

Check which MyChart accounts are linked to your second MyChart Central account so you can reconnect them to the MyChart Central account you plan to keep.

Delete your second account:

  1. Go to tannermychart.org and log in to your second account.
  2. Go to Account Settings.
  3. Scroll down and select Delete Your Account. Follow the steps to finish.
  4. Log in to the MyChart Central account that you kept.
  5. Go to Link My Accounts and reconnect the MyChart accounts that were linked to the MyChart Central account that you deleted.

Deleting your MyChart Central account does not delete any of your health information. Your data is stored and managed by your healthcare organization.

You can, however, delete your MyChart Central account at any time:

Log in to your MyChart Central account.

Go to Account Settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Delete Your Account.

Confirm your choice when prompted.

Your MyChart Central account will stop working immediately. Your linked MyChart accounts will remain active. If you want to delete your individual MyChart accounts, contact each organization separately.

Important: If your Epic ID was the only way you could access a healthcare organization’s MyChart, you’ll need to set up a new username and password with that organization to log in to MyChart. To set up new login credentials, reach out to your healthcare organization’s MyChart support team for help.

Epic had a different website called MyChartCentral, which you could access at lucy.mychart.org. The new MyChart Central is an upgraded website and requires a new account to get started.

Important: We are removing access to Lucy (MyChartCentral) on 12/31/2025. If you added personal data to Lucy that isn’t in your medical record or MyChart account(s), be sure to download that information before 12/31/2025.
