Patient Advocacy and Compliance

Your voice. Your rights. Your care.

Our patient experience representatives — also known as patient advocates — play a vital role in ensuring every patient and caregiver feels supported, respected and well-informed throughout their healthcare journeys.

They serve as non-clinical liaisons between patients, their families and the care team. Their mission is to protect patient rights, facilitate clear communication and ensure a positive, respectful experience.

What we do:

  • Support and resources: We empower patients and caregivers with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Mediation and resolution: We address concerns promptly and work to find fair, compassionate solutions.
  • Advocacy for patient rights: We ensure patients' rights are respected, including privacy, confidentiality and the right to make informed decisions.
  • Promoting a culture of safety: We help identify safety concerns, support safe practices and advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Feedback and improvement: We gather patient and family feedback to improve care and service quality.

Watch this short video to learn more about the compassionate professionals who ensure every voice is heard and discover how Tanner’s patient advocates go beyond treatment to bring comfort, understanding and hope to those who need it most.

Standards and compliance

Our patient advocates help ensure compliance with key healthcare standards, including those set by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

These standards focus on patient rights, safety and complaint resolution, ensuring high-quality care and support.

If you suspect a compliance or ethical violation, we encourage you to speak up.
