Hospital Financial Survey

Each year, Georgia’s nonprofit hospitals submit detailed reports to the Georgia Department of Community Health with insight on the facilities’ financial health.

These reports provide information on inpatient gross patient revenues, contractual adjustments for

Healthy, financially strong nonprofit hospitals reinvest in services, facilities, technology and staff. They become catalysts for their region’s economy, often serving as major employers and helping to attract new businesses and industries to the area.

However, since 2010, seven Georgia hospitals have had to stop serving their communities because of severe financial strains and many others are on the cusp of closure. As of 2019, Georgia ranked third in the nation for rural hospital closures, just behind Texas and Tennessee.

At Tanner, the careful stewardship of our all-volunteer Board of Directors, our organizational leadership and our team of healthcare professionals is allowing us to remain in a strong financial position. Community hospitals can only be successful with the support of their neighbors, and we’re grateful that you’ve continued to trust us with your health — so we can be there for everyone in our region.
